Lindsay Lohan IS the news today since word surfaced that she is wanted by the LAPD. They issued a statement last night indicating that they expect the actress to come in to straighten out a matter pertaining to her 2007 DUI and hit and run conviction.
A $50,000 warrant was issued in L.A. Superior Court and likely involves a probation infraction. She served 84 minutes of jail time and is currently serving a 3-year probation, with a mandated 18-month driver education course and court ordered drug testing.
TMZ reports indicate that the alcohol education program notified the court on Friday that Lohan was not complying with the terms of her probation. A court hearing is scheduled for Monday morning. Lohan is expected to stay on the down low until then or risk being taken away in handcuffs.
Earlier this morning Lohan sent Perez Hilton an e-mail claiming the internet buzz is “totally fabricated and is a horrendous lie.” She might do well to have her new lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley actually check with the L.A. cop shop.
Michael Lohan, when contacted by Perez, was only too happy to weigh in on the hot topic of the day. He claims not to know why the police want to arrest his offspring but he did provide an interesting take on the matter. Wait for it……he blames Samantha Ronson for any and all trouble related to his daughter. Some things never change.
