It was a big night on Celebrity Apprentice, with a two hour show that followed Donald Trump‘s Miss USA 2009 pageant broadcast live from Las Vegas. Two celebrities were given the boot last night, April 19, 2009.

The first task had the groups putting on a charity auction, featuring pieces from Ivanka Trump‘s jewelry line. Natalie Gulbis picked out the pieces for Team KOTU and was faulted for choosing items that were small and didn’t show well from the stage.

Clint Black was the auctioneer, doing a pathetic job of trying to drum up any interest from the audience until Rivers popped her head out from around the curtain and added the comic relief that finally got things rolling.

Annie Duke brought in her heavy hitter gambler friends to bid things up successfully for Athena, who ended up winning the task. Clint Black seemed to be the one who would likely get sent packing but it ended up being Natalie Gulbis who took the hit for KOTU and was fired in the boardroom.

The second task had the teams developing a new frozen food offering for Schwan’s LiveSmart food line. KOTU, with Herschel Walker as project manager, came up with a chicken dish and Athena, with Jesse James as project manager, developed a turkey meatball and pasta dish that was gluten free.

Jesse was in charge of coming up with a marketing plan that never materialized but the dish, the brainchild of Annie Duke, won the day and saved Jesse from the chopping block. Trump made reference to Sandra Bullock, Jessie James’ hot actress wife. We’ve included some pics below.

Herschel Walker ended up getting fired, because the chicken dish was deemed something they already have in their line and the dessert he put together was too complicated to be viable, according to Schwan’s.

Athena team remains strong with Annie Duke, Melissa Rivers, Brande Roderick and Jesse James still on board. Joan Rivers and Clint Black as the sole survivors of the quickly dwindling KOTU team.
