Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira, took to his Twitter account claiming he was assaulted by Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am in the early morning hours outside the Cobra nightclub in Toronto.
Perez was in Toronto to appear as a presenter at the MuchMusic Awards, where the Blackeyed Peas performed.
Just after 3 am, Perez began Tweeting about the incident:
I’m in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please.
I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.
Still waiting for the police. The bleeding has stopped. I need to document this. Please, can the police come to the SoHo Met Hotel.
I spoke to my lawyer. I really need to talk to the authorities. Please come to the SoHo Met Hotel. Have called the police. Need them here.
The Toronto police are here now. Thank you. Please stop calling them.
Will.i.am created his own Twitter account a few hours later to respond to Perez’s allegations:
i just made a twitter account because it isnt cool for someone to blame you and blast you with lies…
Will.i.am then posted a video online denying hitting Perez.
Perez quickly responded with his own video response about the attack, claiming there were multiple witnesses.
Will.i.am claims a random fan assaulted Perez, while Perez claims he was attacked by The Black Eyed Peas manager, Polo Molina.
Toronto police have confirmed that Molina turned himself in and has been charged with assault.
