A group of 1,500 Filipino inmates put on their dancing shoes once again for a repeat performance of their 2007 Thriller dance routine. This time around, the men from Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center practiced for nine hours beginning Friday night, stopping only to eat and get out of the rain as a tribute to Michael Jackson, who died on Thursday, June 25, 2009.
They performed in their orange prison uniforms before a crowd of 700 Cebuanos and tourists. Their original performance, posted two years ago, attracted 24.3 million hits. A million of those came within 24 hours after word of Jackson’s death spread around the globe.
