A 90 minute high speed police chase that started in Mesquite, Texas had police pursuing a car through Dallas-Fort Worth. The driver managed to avoid spike strips and took out several traffic signs.

It began near the intersection of I-635 and I-30 about 1:00 p.m., when police attempted to pull the small gray Nissan over for a routine traffic stop. The driver, reportedly wanted on several drug charges, sped away and led police through two counties and four major highways before crashing.

The 11 unit chase wound through parts of Dallas with sheriff’s vehicles assisting and a Dallas police helicopter helping from the air. The chase ended when the suspect drove past a group of cars stopped at a red light and into the path of an oncoming pickup at a Garland, Texas intersection.

The suspect’s car was t-boned by the truck and heavily damaged. No word on the condition of the suspect.
