Jon Gosselin on Good Morning America (video below)
Good Morning America aired a clip of the Primetime Family Secrets interview with Jon Gosselin, which airs Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 10 p.m. EST.
Speaking out for the first time since his split with wife Kate Gosselin, Jon tells GMA’s Chris Cuomo that he was verbally abused during his marriage, and that he can’t sit next to Kate on the sofa anymore because, “I despise her,” eliciting a warning from Cuomo to be careful about how he talks about the mother of his kids.
When asked why he thinks Kate continues to wear her wedding ring, Jon says he believes it is for public perception (Kate has said she wears it for her children). He then accuses Kate of taking his ring. When Cuomo appears skeptical, Gosselin responds, “Who else would take it?”
“Our relationship will never be fixed,” Gosselin said. ” … I don’t trust her anymore. I was abused … I was beaten down … I’m not going back to that life style.”
Gosselin discusses his relationship with girlfriend Hailey Glassman, Kate’s rumored affair with bodyguard Steve Neild , and how Jon & Kate Plus Eight played a role in the demise of the marriage.
