Actress and reality show star Tawny Kitaen was taken into custody at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon after Newport Beach, California police stopped the Range Rover that she was driving. She was transported to jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Sgt. Shontel Sherwood.
Kitaen is best known for her appearances in several heavy metal videos for the band Whitesnake. She also appeared in the 1984 Tom Hanks movie Bachelor Party. Her latest television gig, which began in October 2008, was on season two of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. Prior to that, she entered a six-month court ordered rehab program in exchange for dismissal of a 2006 felony cocaine possession charge.
Tawny’s troubles go even farther back. In April 2002 she was arrested for spousal abuse and battery against her St. Louis Cardinals husband, pitcher Chuck Finley. He filed for divorce three days later, ending their five year marriage. The couple have two daughters, Wynter and Raine.
