Actor Dennis Hopper, 73, was rushed to a Manhattan hospital by ambulance earlier today for what has been described as flu-like symptoms. According to his publicist Sheila Feren, the actor is being treated at an undisclosed medical facility after complaining of a stomach ailment.
Known best for as the director and star of the 1969 film Easy Rider, Hopper was forced to cancel a full schedule of interviews that were slated for Wednesday, including The Associated Press, Today Show and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
Hopper has been in New York City making the rounds to publicize the second season of the Starz network television drama Crash where he plays the role of erratic record producer Ben Cendars. The show is modeled after the Academy Award winning 2004 film by the same name.
