Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi of the popular Bravo reality show has confirmed that she is pregnant, though she has not revealed the father of the child. She has been photographed recently at several red carpet events with Manu Nathan, who works in Business & Legal Affairs at IMG talent agency – see photo below.
The 39-year-old model and television host was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2009 for Top Chef, in its sixth season. She recently starred in a super-sexy commercial for the Carl’s Jr restaurant chain eating a Western Bacon Cheeseburger. She was a vegetarian during her teen years and says the chain was the catalyst for her return to eating meat.
At the age of 14-years-old, Padma was involved in a serious automobile accident when the car she was riding in flew 40 feet down an embankment and straight into a tree. Her injuries included a fractured right hip and shattered upper right arm, leaving her with a 7-inch scar between her elbow and shoulder.
As horrific as the incident was, Lakshmi told Vogue magazine, “Flying in a car felt like an exhilarating hallucination, an unbelievable ride that oddly remains one of the most beautiful images in my memory.”
