On Monday Oct. 5, Kate Gosselin sat down with Meredith Vieira on the Today Show. The troubled mother of eight revealed that her estranged and soon-to-be ex-husband Jon Gosselin had cleared out their joint bank account.
How much did Jon take? Allegedly he took $230,000 and left Kate with $1,000. Unable to pay bills and take care of her families needs, Kate has filed paperwork seeking child support and temporary spousal support.
This was followed closely by Jon’s bombshell that he would no longer allow the kids to participate in the enterprise that is the basis for their income, the newly named TLC reality show Kate Plus 8.
One of Kate’s lawyers Mark Momjian said “She needs relief in light of the draining of substantial marital assets in violation of the arbitrator’s decision that the money should be used only for specific purposes.”
Momjian also stated that both sides are currently working with a court-appointed arbitrator. The next meeting will be on Tuesday. As for Jon’s lawyer Mark Heller, he seems to think everything will work out just fine once they all get together and “do some bookkeeping.”
Since Jon doesn’t work, we can’t help but wonder where he will find any funds to fork over each month. He did tell an ET reporter this week that the amount that Kate is requesting is $7,500.
