With two weeks left until the American Idol finale, the four remaining contestants sang their hearts out on Wednesday night during the Fox reality show.

The Top 4 were tasked with singing a song that inspires them, and they chose a tune from the Leiber & Stoller Songbook for their second performance. Serving as mentor this week was Lady Gaga.

James Durbin sang Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey and Love Potion No. 9 by The Clovers. The judges, as always, loved both of the performances. Judge Randy Jackson, partial to the Journey choice, gave him a two-thumbs up.

Haley Reinhart started with Earth Song by Michael Jackson and returned with I Who Have Nothing by Ben E. King. JLO and Randy jumped all over her song selection for the Jackson choice. Tyler said they were both wrong. After her second performance, Steven got even more expansive, with: “You just had a moment. You just Reinhart-ed yourself into the middle of next week.”

Scotty McCreery started with Alan Jackson tune Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning, and wrapped his evening performance with Young Blood by The Coasters. Randy told him: “You are ready for super stardom. After his second performance, Tyler quipped: “You make Gaga’s yaya go la-la.”

Lauren Alaina chose Anyway by Martina McBride as her inspiration song. She finished with Trouble by Elvis Presley. Tyler told her: “You’re the whole package.” Jennifer said: “So proud of you.” Randy said she was “in it to win it.”

Who will be eliminated on Thursday night? Two weeks in a row, Haley has had a lackluster first performance, and then hit her second song out of the ballpark. She seems to be the most vulnerable …
