In Texas everything is bigger, and newborn baby JaMichael Brown is no exception. The infant, who weighed 16 pounds, 1 ounce, was delivered on Monday, July 11, by Janet Johnson at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas.

The new mom experienced gestational diabetes during her pregnancy, a condition that results in mother’s giving birth to large babies. Prior to performing a cesarean section delivery, her doctor predicted that she would deliver a 12 pound child.

Johnson’s fourth child now holds the State record as the largest baby ever born in Texas. Her first order of business after she recovers from the C-section, will be to return the newborn clothing that had been purchased for her latest offspring.

An Indonesian baby, born in 2009, tipped the scale at 19 pounds, 2 ounces – check out that big boy here.
