Kissing cousins …
Kyra Sedgwick chatted it up with David Letterman about her newly-discovered lineage during a guest spot on his Late Night show. The segment will air on Friday night.
The Closer actress explained that she appeared on a show with Henry Louis Gates Jr., who traced her ancestry back 200 years, with some very interesting results. She was required to provide a cheek swab of DNA to facilitate the project.
It turns out that she is related to former president’s Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter. She was also thrilled to discover that she and Marilyn Monroe are distant cousins. After sharing that news with Dave, she spread her hands and joked: “I can see the resemblance.”
More distant relatives …
The biggest bombshell was discovering that she and her actor husband Kevin Bacon are 10th cousins once removed.
