Wow! If you missed Simon Cowell, he wants you to know that he is back and he hasn’t changed. The new promo for The X Factor is hilarious. The video pokes fun at his old show American Idol.
Cowell is shown seated with fellow judges LA Reid, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. They are all gushing over some terrible singers, not unlike what judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson did hundreds of times over the past season of AI.
He appears to have changed. Dressed in a pink sweater, he comes across as nice, uplifting, and he even drives an environmentally suitable car…and then he wakes up, realizing it has all been a terrible dream.
The promo then shows us the real Simon. He’s wearing a suit, has a jet and he’s insulting people with relish! He’s back, but he hasn’t changed a bit! He’s still the brutally honest, sometimes downright rude man we grew to love.
The X Factor will premiere September 21, 2011 on FOX, the same network that produces American Idol. The winner stands to receive a $5 million recording contract with Cowell’s label Syco Music.
