NBC scored big on Super Bowl Sunday with a record setting 111.3 million viewers tuning in for the biggest athletic contest of the year.
Iconic songstress Madonna and her star-studded lineup did even better than that according to the Nielsen ratings.
During this year’s 12-minute halftime extravaganza, 114 million people caught the action.
The best Super Bowl ad was judged to be Doritos Sling Baby, according to the official results of the 2012 USA Today Admeter.
Despite Madonna’s brilliant performance, the majority of the after buzz focused on M.I.A., who flashed a lewd gesture that came so quickly that NBC was unable to hide the offensive one finger salute.
Spokesman Christopher McCloskey said, “It was a spontaneous gesture that our delay system caught late.”
The show’s best moments came with the final song Like a Prayer, performed with Cee Lo Green. The words WORLD PEACE were projected onto the field as a parting shot.
