Lil Wayne is ready to discuss what caused the seizures that landed him in intensive care earlier this month.
In an on-air interview with Power 106 radio in Los Angeles, Wayne said, “The bad news is, I’m an epileptic, so I’m prone to seizures. This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures; y’all just never heard about it.”
He admits his last medical emergency was the worst, “This time it got real bad because I got three of ’em in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to, like, 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died soon. That’s why it was so serious.”
Initial reports indicated that the rapper had a severe reaction after ingesting too much sizzurp, a codeine-laced drink. He claims drugs had nothing to do with it.
According to Lil Wayne, “The reason for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself. That’s typical me, though.”
Showing the love during his recent hospital stay were a group of high profile visitors including Drake, Chris Paul, Nicki Minaj, and Birdman.
After his release, Wayne took to his Twitter page to thank his followers for their support.
Wayne has cancelled his upcoming European tour on the advice of his doctors.
