The five shining stars of the iconic sitcom ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ have reunited to film an episode of ‘Hot in Cleveland.’

Stars Mary Tyler Moore, Valerie Harper, Betty White, Cloris Leachman and Georgia Engel attended a 30-minute Q&A session to reminisce about their shared past.

Leachman indicated that Valerie Harper’s recent incurable brain cancer diagnosis was a compelling factor that drew them together on ‘Hot in Cleveland.’

Harper characterized their reunion this way, “I would say there’s laughter and the tears come up but then they’re part of the laughter. Did you ever laugh till you cried? That’s been happening a lot. And the remembrances and the stories. And it’s been wonderful. It’s been so full of life and joy and love. And fun!”

Veteran actress Mary Tyler Moore pointed out that her show was shot on the same studio lot decades earlier. She said to Valerie, “Almost any scene we ever did, we could look into each other’s eyes and be comforting or uplifting for each other. Just thinking back to some of those moments, those visuals, looking in your eyes. Now, you’re starting to cry.”

The ‘Love Is All Around’ episode is scheduled to air on September 4. Elka (White) and Mamie Sue (Engel) try to get their championship bowling team back together years after they drifted apart after a bad falling out. Other team members include Moore, Harper and Leachman.

‘Hot in Cleveland’ also features regulars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick.
