Comedian Andy Dick redeemed himself last night on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ with a Viennese Waltz that caused judge Carrie Ann Inaba to sob uncontrollably.

Each of the remaining celebrity contestants put together a themed-performance during ‘Best Year of My Life’ Week. In the video that was shown before Andy and his pro partner Sharna danced, the stand-up comic and actor stated that this is the best year of his life.

He acknowledged, “2013 has been the best year of my life because of sobriety. My daughter always used to dance for me when she was little. I never danced for her. Now Meg is 15 and doesn’t dance for me any more but I want to dance for her. We both love the song ‘Hallelujah’ and I’m dedicating this performance to her.”

His Viennese Waltz got a standing ovation. During the judges critique, Carrie Ann Inaba was so overcome with emotion that she couldn’t speak. She waved Andy Dick over to her area and embraced him warmly.

She finally pulled herself together before managing to say, “It was like the simplest of poems. Thank you for that beautiful moment.”

The dance earned three 7’s for a total score of 21, putting them in safe territory and likely to return for another week.

After the show, Andy and Meg Dick attended a ‘Dancing with the Stars’ afterparty gathering at The Grove, as seen in the above photo.
