Keyshawn Johnson and his pro partner Sharna Burgess were the first team to get the boot during season 17 of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on Monday night.
The former NFL player turned ESPN analyst tweeted, “Thanks for all the support! I had an amazing time!! #DWTS”
Normally the celebrity athletes do extremely well on ‘DWTS,’ but that wasn’t to be for the 41-year-old who claims that prior to joining season 17 of the reality dance competition, he “never even bobbed his head in the car.”
Previous NFL success stories on the ABC dance competition: Emmitt Smith, Donald Driver and Hines Ward won the mirror ball, Jerry Rice and Warren Sapp ended up 2nd and Jacoby Jones finished 3rd.
Johnson had the second-lowest judges score last week for his cha-cha. When fan votes from last week were combined with the judges scores last night, it was adios for Keyshawn and Sharna.
Seth Markman, ESPN Senior Coordinating Producer of Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown had this to say last week, “All I can say is, Keyshawn better not finish behind Bill Nye the Science Guy or he will never live it down.” Oh, oh…
Johnson and Burgess boarded a charter flight to New York City after getting the boot last night to appear this morning on ABC morning shows ‘GMA’ and ‘The View.’
The eleven remaining contestants vying for the mirror ball trophy: Elizabeth Berkley, Corbin Bleu, Brant Daugherty, Bill Engvall, Valerie Harper, Christina Milian, Bill Nye, Jack Osbourne, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, Leah Remini and Amber Riley.
