Following a recent extramarital cheating scandal, actor Dean McDermott has checked into a rehab facility according to his publicist. He is the husband of Tori Spelling.
Dean told PEOPLE, “I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I’ve caused my family. I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues. I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves.”
McDermott and Spelling have four children: Liam, 6, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2, and Finn, 1. The actor also has a 15-year-old-son Jack from his previous marriage to Mary Jo Eustace. The couple split in 2005 after Dean was caught cheating with his ‘Mind Over Matter’ co-star, Tori Spelling.
Regarding her ex-husband’s decision to enter rehab, Eustace told PEOPLE, “My main concern at this point is the well-being and health of the son we share. I wish Dean only the best in his struggle to overcome the demons he has been wrestling with for many years, so he can become the father and the man I know he wants to be.”
She added, “I am also hopeful that from this point on there will be a dedicated effort to deal with this matter privately and respectfully, for the sake of all the children involved.”
Spelling and Jennie Garth are busy working on their upcoming ABC Family sitcom ‘Mystery Girls.’ They are executive producing and co-starring in the series that will premiere later this year.
