Celebrity Fans Willing to Forego Seeing Fav A-Listers if it Means They Can Live In Peace from the Paparazzi

If ever there were a MySpace profile we wanted to befriend, it is, undoubtedly, “Fans Against the Paparazzi.” With 21 (!) friends and counting, Fans has just one central mission: celebrate celebrities without attacking them. As if there were another way.

Its mission is clear: “STOP BUYING WEEKLY TABLOID MAGAZINES WHO SUPPORT PAPARAZZI BY PURCHASING AND PRINTING THEIR CANDIDS!”

Somehow lost in the message, however, is an asterisk about “continue buying the tabloids who set up arrangements with celebrities to shoot ‘candid’ photos in exchange for a fat profit sharing arrangement.”

Below you’ll find a list of tabloid and weekly magazines to BOYCOTT, as well as photo agencies we are asking them to STOP SUPPORTING.

– globe magazine
– hello!
– in touch weekly
– life & style
– national enquirer
– ok! magazine
– people magazine
– planet sun
– star magazine
– us weekly

After the jump, the full email sent out by FATP to tabloid editors, paparazzi, and the like. You know, anyone who participates in the practice of harassing the men and women who so diligently pick up seven- and eight-figure cheques for appearing on screen.

#####

First and foremost I want to ask you to please, please, please not disregard this e-mail as spam or junk! You have all been contacted intentionally regarding a serious issue that needs attention, and we’re reaching out to you to help us make a difference. Secondly, we would like to apologize if you received this e-mail twice, or if this was received on your personal e-mail address. All e-mail addresses were acquired via personal contacts and/or the internet. We are in no means out to abuse you, and this will be the first and last e-mail you receive from us unless you respond and require an additional response from us. This message is being sent (blind copied to protect your privacy) to actors, actresses, singers, musicians, publicists, managers, entertainment executives, bloggers, magazines, newspapers, reporters, assistants, etc. in hopes of getting our voices heard and spreading word. With that said, please read the following message in order to understand what we have contacted you about.

The first thing you should know about who this message is coming to you from is that we are no more than two fans of the entertainment business. We are not reporters, we are not celebrities ourselves, we are just two girls (ages 20 and 22) who have a passion for the entertainment business and the celebrities that make it successful. But this is not fan mail and please do not mistake it as such! But over the past couple years we have watched some of our favorite entertainers be disgraced by paparazzi and tabloids, every situation worse than the last and most of the time of completely false accusation. In honor of our respect for these entertainers we want to help by bringing light to the malicious scum that call themselves “photographers” preying on human beings during their every day lives, including their children, extended family and friends, and co-workers. These “photographers” have gotten more and more violent and vicious as time goes on and unfortunately entirely too many people are in danger including innocent by-standers who get trampled on the street by these swarms of greedy humans out to make a buck off of someone else’s life. As fans we are guilty of feeding these “photographers” by buying the magazines they make fortunes off of by selling their photographs to, and we are guilty of getting a form of an entertainment out of it. But we’re starting to see what is coming of our entertainment and it is not good for those who are out to entertain us. How can we call ourselves fans if we are feeding the scum that destroys their lives?

THIS IS WHERE IT STOPS!

It’s time for fans to take a stand against the paparazzi, it’s time for us to step up and help out our favorite actors/actresses/musicians/etc. by BOYCOTTING ANY AND ALL TABLOID MAGAZINES. This is NOT a personal attack on tabloids, but a PLEA to STOP BUYING PAPARAZZI PHOTOGRAPHS! We don’t need to see Britney’s vagina for entertainment, we don’t need to see Jessica in the mall with her friends, and we don’t need to see Lindsay at an AA meeting (the people who maul her attempts to heal herself should be ashamed of themselves). We don’t need to see Brad and Angelina on a PRIVATE vacation with their CHILDREN, the same goes for any celebrity couple who are just trying to live their lives when they are — WHEN NOT WORKING!

The situation is already completely out of control and it’s time we got a handle on it before it gets worse, because who knows what worse could end up being.

We completely understand that this is going to be a hard task to take on, but we are ready to start the fight and we need all of you on our side to do it. If we’re going to help you, we’re going to need your support in doing so. We need to know that we are not doing this for nothing, that we are doing this to actually get something done! There are bigger problems in the world and of this we are aware, and we hope that you are aware as well. But you can only fix one problem at a time and you have to start somewhere accessible to yourself before you can branch out to other problems. As well as support we’re asking you for privacy and civilization because this world is already a troubled place and by hounding those who are only here to distract us by means of film, television, and music is not making things any better. Everyone deserves their own PRIVATE personal life and we are out to help them find it!

Originally we were going to create an .org web-site but we decided that a MySpace was a little more up-to-date as far as networking and spreading word are concerned. Which is why we’ve created http://www.myspace.com/fansagainstpaparazzi We don’t expect you to add us with your personal pages, but if you have official pages (ie; myspace.com/nicolerichie , myspace.com/johnmayer, etc.) we beg that you have whoever runs it add us immediately and put us in your Top 8 to help spread the word and help get the message across.

Once again, to those of you who are receiving this at weekly magazines, this is NOT a personal attack on tabloids. Though gossip should be eliminated as well, we are working on this one problem at a time. STOP RUNNING PAPARAZZI PHOTOGRAPHS! Until then we are administering a nation-wide BOYCOTT!

If you would like to help us in our fight against the paparazzi please contact us at fansagainstpaparazzi@gmail.com . We have worked very hard on this so far and we would really like to see this go the distance and make some form of a difference so that we can say we tried and possibly even spark something. Our names and personal contact information have not been disclosed because we are not looking for personal “fame” or attention. As we are trying to help protect and bring respect back to your privacy, please respect ours.

I would like to once again apologize for any inconvenience this e-mail might have caused, and apologize if you received it more than once and/or on a personal mailing address. Our intention was not to abuse you and as mentioned above this will be our FIRST and LAST message to you unless you respond and require an additional response.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME, AND HOPEFULLY, YOUR SUPPORT!

Much Love and God Bless,

FANS AGAINST PAPARAZZI

Most celebrities try to have it both ways,
They are against the paparazzi most of the time,
(unless they are promoting a project).
This is the same as controlling one’s publicity/image
