• The Grateful Dead are dropping plans to end the free exchange of their music over the Internet. They came to this after fans threatened to stop buying merchandise in protest. Luckily, everything was worked out, and we can only imagine it involved some sort of peace pipe. [NME]

• Indie Music will soon be available for podcasts to consumers in the UK. Previously, podcasts had to use copyright-free music or no music at all. Hopefully this will be a step toward a new generation of overly sentimental mix compilations to commemorate every teen event. [BBC]

Young Jeezy insists that his kid-friendly Snowman alter-ego and T-shirt brand is not, in any way, meant to be a drug reference. He also says that the Snowman can stand for everything you want it to, even “Christmastime,” but never forget how “street” it really is to have a Snowman on your shirt. [MTV]
