One of the nation’s foremost celebrity news and gossip magazines, Us Weekly, is under siege over its current cover story, which features Republican V.P. candidate Sarah Palin and the headline “Babies, Lies & Scandal.”
The weekly celeb gossip tabloid, which recently ran a cover story on Barack Obama and “why he loves” his wife Michelle, is being furiously attacked by supporters of Sarah Palin, who’ve posted thousands of negative comments.
Not the usual “leave Britney Spears alone!!” comebacks either.
Readers are seriously pissed at the magazine fawning over Obama and then trashing Palin. Many also say that these are family matters which have no bearing on her ability to be Vice President and should be ignored altogether.
SIDE NOTE: OK! seems to do a better job of balancing coverage with its dueling covers this week, both of which promote generally positive stories.
As Palin prepares for the biggest speech of her life tonight, debate over mainstream media (and celeb gossip) coverage of her has reached a fever pitch.
