We know, we know. High School Musical 3 doesn’t come out for another two months.
Still, the following rumor about High School Musical 4 is too exciting not to pass along:
According to Life and Style Weekly, Zac Efron might actually reprise his role as Troy Bolton in a fourth installment of the franchise that made him famous. The great-haired actor had originally said this fall’s big screen version of the film would be his last, but that celebrity gossip magazine reports that it might come down to salary.

“Zac is thinking in the $8 million to $10 million range, but it depends on how the movie opens and how desperately they want him back,” a source told the publication.
Stop staring at a shirtless, wet Zac Efron and focus on the fact that he might return for High School Musical 4.
High School Musical 3 may be focused on the group’s graduation, but Disney is still optimistic it can get recruit a few major cast members to return. Money does talk, after all.
“Are we going to have all the cast back? Probably not,” Disney Channel Worldwide president Rich Ross said in April when the third movie was first announced. “Will we have some of them? I hope so.
