Cory Wharton made a strong impression on Teen Mom OG fans during his first season on the MTV series.
The father of a little girl named Ryder along with fellow newbie Cheyenne Floyd, Wharton spent more of his time on screen speaking with Floyd about their future as a couple.
But what about their future on Teen Mom OG itself?
Will Floyd and Wharton return next season?
Cory responded to that question in an interview with Radar Online, and we have the latest on his status below…
Wharton and Floyd Joined Teen Mom OG for Season 8
They both had appeared on previous MTV shows and they had/have an unusual relationship.
They Have an Unusual Relationship
Cory and Cheyenne are unlike any other twosome on the series, really.
How So?
They were never actually a couple. They simply slept together and produced a baby… and Floyd didn’t even tell Wharton that he was Ryder’s dad until she was six months old.
Where are They at Now?
Great question. Floyd seems very open to a romantic entanglement, but she also dated some dude named Zach for most of her opening run as a Teen Mom.
Cory, Though?
He doesn’t seem as certain about actually being with Cheyenne in this manner. During the Season 8 reunion special, Floyd said she’ll “wait” awhile to see what Wharton really wants.
But Cory Would Not Commit

He made it clear he has feelings for Cheyenne, but not enough to be her boyfriend right now, apparently.
Cory Does Want More Kids, However
And he wants them with Cheyenne. For sure, 100 percent, he told Dr. Drew on air.
Ryder Has Been a Blessing
“ItâÂÂs been the best year of my life for many reasons but the number 1 reason has to be me becoming a father,” Wharton recently wrote on Instagram.
What About His Future on the Show?
âÂÂWe want to return,â Cory said to Radar. âÂÂHopefully there is another season. IâÂÂm sure you will see us again.âÂÂ

Cory Was Satisfied with the Experience
He added in this interview: âÂÂWe filmed a lot more sh-t than they ended up showing. They showed the convos they asked for you to have. The network has to make a show. WeâÂÂre not producers, weâÂÂre talent. MTV did a great job.”
He Also Sort of Took a Jab at Amber Portwood
Portwood complained about how she was depicted this season, and even said straight out that she might “quit” the show.
Poor Portwood

âÂÂI canâÂÂt do this anymore,â Amber wrote to her fans and followers this winter. âÂÂI have to quit this show. The heartache this show has put me through is too much to bear anymore. If I will not be shown then thereâÂÂs nothing more to do.âÂÂ
She Added at the Time:
âÂÂMy name will not get smeared anymore. I hope everyone is resting easy with the money theyâÂÂve made off of heartache and pain that IâÂÂve endured.”
This is What Cory Said in Response:

âÂÂAmber needs to know what she signed up for. The network is not making you say something. TheyâÂÂre not telling you what to say.”
Still, Cory Doesn’t Want Amber to Walk Away

She’s a “big part of the show,” he told Radar.
Bristol Palin Also Whined About Editing
Cory says he also wants to see Palin come back for a second season, despite her extreme anger at the way she was portrayed as a Teen Mom.
We Don’t Know If Bristol or Amber Will Return, But…
… we do know Wharton wants another shot at the fame and fortune.
And He’s All Set with He and Cheyenne’s Teaser
“The whole season was a preview,” he told Radar. “For me and Cheyenne, it’s like, how are these two going to handle co-parenting. What happens when Cory dares someone else? How is she doing to take it when tables are turned?”
