Millions of people will tune in tonight to see the highly-anticipated Bruce Jenner-Diane Sawyer interview in which the former Olympian will speak publicly for the first time about transitioning into living his life as a woman.
Naturally, Jenner and his famous family will be watching, and it seems Bruce has meticulously planned the details of his viewing party.
TMZ is reporting that Bruce will be watching a special East Coast feed (at 6 pm PDT) and taking an hour break before tuning into the West Coast broadcast along the rest of Los Angeles.
The reason for the double-screening isn’t Bruce’s vanity. (After all, the guy gets plenty of opportunities to watch himself on TV.) Rather, he’s reportedly planned it this way so that he can watch the interview with both halves of his blended family.
Sources say the Kardashian clan will be watching one airing at Bruce’s house, and the Jenner kids (Brody, Brandon, Burt and Casey) will be joining him for the other one.
No word on where that leaves Kylie and Kendall, who are Jenners by name, but have always seemed to have closer relationships with their Kardashian siblings.
There have been conflicting reports as to whether or not Bruce’s family is supportive of his sex change, but the fact that he’s scheduled these separate viewings makes us think there are details that even they don’t know.
They’ve already seen Bruce in a bra, so we can’t imagine that there’s anything in the interview that they’ll find terribly shocking, but if the man has been hiding anything, he’s chosen a pretty clever way to let the cat out of the bag.
We could all learn something here: The next time you need to break some news to your family, tape an interview with Diane Sawyer and let them find out about it that way. No one can get mad at Diane Sawyer.
