On Tuesday, Travis Barker was hospitalized.
He and even the Kardashians have been unusually quiet during this health crisis.
Travis’ daughter and stepdaughter have both made posts thanking fans for their prayers, however.
Now, ex-wife Shanna Moakler is opening up, pointing out that Travis has beaten the odds before.
Shanna Moakler spoke to E! News about Travis Barker’s condition, saying more than anyone else has.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with concern to my ex and father of my children,” she began.
Shanna’s statement continued: “I know he is in great hands.”
“And,” Shanna continued, Travis remains “surrounded by loving support.”
Her statement noted that he has “the best medical teams available.”
Shanna did not leave out his new partner, adding: “and his beautiful wife Kourtney.”
In her statement, Shanna then expressed her hope “for a speedy recovery.”
“And,” she emphasized, she hopes “for the comfort of my children.”
Shanna reasoned: “As I know they are very concerned and worried.”
Shanna of course shares three children with Travis.
Alabama Barker is 16. Landon Barker is 18. Atiana De La Hoya is 23.
Though she and Travis are exes, his welfare is very much her concern when it impacts their children.
However, Shanna remains optimistic — and Travis’ history suggests that she is right to be.
“Travis has a beat the odds numerous times,” she then noted.
“And,” Shanna affirmed, “I know with his support system he will do it again.”
Shanna very tactfully concluded her statement: “I will always be there for him and my children.”
Her comment about Travis beating the odds is an obvious allusion to him being the sole survivor of a deadly plane crash.
The 2008 tragedy cost the lives of Travis’ close friends, and left his body covered in third-degree burns.
Only recently did Travis begin flying again, due to understandable trauma related to flying.
He managed to overcome this fear just in time.
In May, Travis flew to Italy for a lavish wedding ceremony — his and Kourtney Kardashian’s third and final wedding.
On Tuesday morning, Travis was in severe pain.
He and Kourtney sought medical attention, but doctors felt that Travis needed urgent care.
An ambulance transported him to Cedars-Sinai, with Kourtney following closely behind him.
Initial reports were unclear as to the nature of the crisis.
Some suspected a clotting issue. Even conspiracy theorists weighed in, unfortunately.
Fans only learned that Travis was still conscious when Alabama shared a glimpse of her holding her father’s hand.
Even as she asked fans to pray for her father, Alabama did not say more.
Similarly, Atiana’s post thanking fans for their support did not offer details.
It is only through reports that we know Travis’ diagnosis.
Pancreatitis has a few causes. Gall stones are one of the most common.
Hopefully, between pain management, IV fluids, and antibiotics, doctors can quickly resolve this.
Those are the most common treatments. We hope that this is all that Travis needs.
