Chris Brown is feeling the heat from this week’s home invasion at his San Fernando Valley residence, and not just from the armed robbery itself.

The incident could cost him custody of his daughter Royalty.

If you missed it, Chris’ home was robbed by armed gunmen and the singer’s aunt was briefly taken hostage early Wednesday morning.

The scary incident went down while Brown was hosting a party in Hollywood, a fact that many observers believe wasn’t a coincidence.

According to the aunt, the robbers knew it was Chris’ crib, and Brown’s mom Joyce has long warned him about the company he keeps.

In other words, the family thinks it was an inside job, which doesn’t bode well for the 26-year-old star in any future custody proceedings.

Brown’s baby mama Nia Guzman-Amey is worried that Royalty is in danger when she’s around Chris, given his history with this sort of thing.

Guzman thinks many of Chris’ friends are gang members or gang-affiliated, and the robbery shows just how deep he is in that world.

She’s just not cool with Royalty being around that sort of thing, and it’s hard to blame her … or deny that Chris throws up gang signs.

Or that Suge Knight was shot last summer in what many felt was a gang-related assassination attempt on Brown. Bad news all around.

Bad timing, too. Chris has filed court papers seeking to legally formalize a custody agreement with Nia, with whom he hasn’t had one.

He’s been paying child support and arranging meetings privately thus far, but believes Nia hasn’t been entirely fair in either regard.

This won’t help his cause whatsoever. Stay tuned …
