After The Voice top six contestants performed for all the marbles Monday, Tuesday’s results show meant the end of the road for one aspirant.
With nary a bad singer among the half dozen, and every coach still in the game, all bets were off as America voted, and Tweeted, for its picks.
So who’s still in and who’s on a plane by now?
Let’s get down to The Voice results …
After a couple of performances from former Voice standouts, we learn the identity of the first singer safe and moving on to the Season 8 Top 5:
Sawyer Fredericks of Team Pharrell!
No surprise there. If there was any favorite among the Top Six, he would’ve been it, and his two songs from Monday were in the iTunes Top 10.
Right behind him is Team Blake’s Meghan Linsey … and Team Pharrell’s Koryn Hawthorne! The first-year coach now has two of the top five spots.
That leaves Team Adam’s Joshua Davis and Team Christina’s Kimberly Nichole and India Carney battling for the final two spots in Season 8.
One of those spots is then claimed by …
Joshua Davis! Bit of a surprise there.
Well, in a cool twist of fate, every coach will be represented in the top five, which you know is far from a guarantee on the NBC competition.
Sadly for Christina, she’ll have to say goodbye to one protege. Both sang for their lives, or more specifically America’s Instant Twitter Save:
India Carney performed "Perfect," which was a little all over the place, while Kimberly Nichole slayed with "Seven Nation Army." Owned it.
In our opinion, at least … but we were out-voted! After the #VoiceSave vote was tabulated on Twitter, India is in and Kimberly was ousted!
That’s a tough one, although she did go out on a high note, at least, and we all know Sawyer’s taking this thing all the way anyway … right?
The Voice Top 5, once more …
