Say what you will about Madonna - she somehow manages to stay relevant decades past the point at which most bubbly blonde pop stars dry up and blow away in the wind.
Madge has a new album to promote, so she's been in the public eye more usual lately, and her press tour included a stop by Howard Stern's Sirius radio show for an interview that's got the celebrity gossip world buzzing.
After referring to Kanye West as the black Madonna and saying that she sometimes wishes she were a gay man, you might think that the 56-year-old Queen of Pop would be all out of headline-grabbing quotables. You would be wrong...
Discussing her notorious 1994 interview with David Letterman in which she dropped the F-bomb 14 times (a record for network television in those days), Madonna stated she blames her then-boyfriend Tupac for encouraging her to acts "gangsta." Seriously:
"I was in a weird mood that day," Madonna said to Stern. "I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time and the thing is, he got me all riled up on life in general. So when I went on the show I was feeling very gangsta."
Yes, Madonna dated Tupac, and she used the word gangsta with a straight face. We apologize if your world suddenly seems like it makes less sense.
