On the personal front, Barry wanted to be sue he didn’t go too quickly with new love interest Linda Park (all men have been there, buddy), though this concern was quickly replace by the Ronnie/Firestorm situation heating up.

Unsure what was up with her man, Linda asked Iris and she suggested Barry was not over an “unrequited love.” Later on, Barry confronted Iris about this choice of words, alleging he no long possesses those feelings.

He then proved as much from rekindling his young romance with Linda… as Iris looked on from afar.

Elsewhere, Dr. Martin Stein accidentally roasted a college friend mid-consult, prompting Wells to ask Caitlin if she’s on board with what needs to be done. She says yes.

The S.T.A.R. labs team later dials down Stein’s volatility via a prescription drug cocktail and comes up with the idea to separate him and Ronnie using fission.

So they run tests on Stein and Caitlin asks if she can speak to Ronnie. Stein says that isn’t possible, though Ronnie “loved” Caitlin “very much.”

With Wells trying to decide if ending two lives is worth saving millions, Stein disappears to the Badlands to kill himself. However, Barry arrives with Caitlin to instead attempt a quantum splicer that Wells created using the tachyon device.

Seeing Caitlin, Stein gives her a gentle kiss,”from Ronnie,” yet he does ultimately explodes, just as Barry speeds Caitlin away from the mushroom cloud.

Elsewhere, General Elling received word of the event and tells a soldier to “bring me Firestorm.”

Crazy stuff. You may need to watch The Flash online in order to make full sense of it.

In a separate storyline, Joe recruits Cisco and his toys to revisit the scene of Nora Allen’s murder. Can they find new clues? Cisco decides to pull “photographs” from an old mirror with a silver nitrate backing.

This impressive slideshow leads Joe to a splatter of blood covered by wallpaper. Where is Dexter Morgan when you need him, huh?

Joe asks Cisco to test the sample… against Dr. Wells’ DNA. This accusation leaves Cisco flabbergasted, and also sort of crestfallen.

He begs off the case, but later tells Joe that the sample actually belongs to Barry. Actually, an ADULT Barry!
