A pair of eliminated Bachelor contestants may be out of the running for Chris Soules, but running neck and neck for a starring role on The Bachelorette.
That's right. Even with three women still going on The Bachelor's "journey" for love, Jade Roper and Britt Nilsson may be the best Bachelorette material.
If this season is like the previous ... well, as many as we can think back to, one of Chris Soules' would-be wives is going to wind up being The Bachelorette instead.
Producers always have a decent pool of possibilities to choose from, and the viewers already know the person going in, so they feel invested. It's foolproof.
Well, mostly. Juan Pablo Galavis was a hilariously terrible outlier.
Anyway, it's hard not to be on Team Jade after the events we just watched unfold on Sunday and Monday's combined five-hour television EVENT.
Given the reveal of Jade Roper Playboy photos on her hometown date with Chris this week, the small town Nebraska girl gives the show a great option.
Yes, she's got that skeleton in her closet, but it's already out there, and the way she - and Chris - handled it was about as classy as you could hope for.
For the show to turn down Jade because of old Playboy pics would be just as bad as the Iowa farmer, himself a rejected contender on the franchise, doing so.
He didn't, and neither would they.
Jade openly admits her life would be easier if she hadn't made this decision, and earned our sympathy with that tinge (or more than a tinge) of regret.
She's also hot, and a bit more complex than you might think. Once you get through that shy exterior, the Wild Mustang of Gering is ready to go crazy.
Of course, Britt Nilsson also knows a thing or two about crazy.
The Hollywood waitress is not only alarmingly pretty, but charismatic and emotional, the kind of woman who captivates you, for better or for worse.
Sure, she doesn't shower often and wears way too much makeup, and sort of totally lost her mind when Chris didn't give her that last group rose.
But hey. She's real and she's really entertaining above all else.
Host Chris Harrison said no decision is made until the Women Tell All special and the finale, but he tells TV Guide that Nilsson is very much in the hunt.
"Britt would [be] a good Bachelorette. She's beautiful, she's articulate; it would be very emotional and the guys would be very happy. She's definitely a candidate."
He also threw out a less obvious contender: Carly Waddell.
"I love Carly. She almost wanted it too bad. The thing I love about Carly, but I see why she ends up as the best friend, is she's funny and deprecating."
"Carly got a little mean at Britt towards the end, but I get it."
"She's bitter towards the pretty girl and she admitted it. It's heartbreaking, but a lot of women will empathize with it, which makes her relatable. She's so frickin' funny."
Interesting. And, of course, there are two more non farmer's wives to come once Chris plows the field, uh, or something. You know what we're talking about.
Whitney Bischoff, Becca Tilley and Kaitlyn Bristowe - perhaps more Kaitlyn than the other two - would be top tier candidates if Soules rejected them.
