Sheldon dropped those magic three words on The Big Bang Theory Season 8 Episode 8.

And, no, he wasn’t speaking to his mother at the time.

The half hour kicked off with the guys talking about Howard’s mom and some gibbon monkeys. The girls, meanwhile, were enjoying happy hour and discussing… prom?

Penny isn’t a fan of the entire concept, but Bernadette and Amy are wishing they could have a do-over (aren’t we all?). So they suggest decorating the roof, doing up their hair, putting their men in tuxedos. The whole nine yards.

And the men don’t think it’s a terrible idea.

A Night to Remember is therefore set in motion after Bernadette sends out an evite and also invites Stewart, who RSVPs with a plus-one.

It turns out to be Jeanie, the second cousin to whom Howard lost his virginity. Cue a major fight in a limo and the revelation that Howard and Stewart both have issues.

Sheldon, for his part, is all about getting this prom experience right. He takes a flash and he spikes the punch… with pomegranate juice. But he then has a panic attack to the all the AFTER prom talk.

Will Amy pressure him into "making whoopee?"

No, she assures him, which is when he tells Amy he loves her and she reciprocates and our hearts melt into a million little pieces.

Amy starts to have a panic attack of her own in response, but Sheldon tells her to lie down… somewhere else. Girls still aren’t allowed in there. Some things never change. Nor should they.

With many The Big Bang Theory quotes of the night from which to choose, Raj takes home this week’s top prize for the following:

Ever since I saw Pretty in Pink, I’ve wanted to go to an American prom. But then I saw Carrie and I did not want to go to an American prom. But then I saw Never Been Kissed and I’m back on the prom bandwagon… This prom thing has been a real roller coaster.

NOTE: The Big Bang Theory Season 8 Episode 9 is titled "The Septum Deviation" and it airs on Thursday, November 13.
