LeAnn Rimes has a Christmas tour to promote which means plenty of awkward interviews and laughably awful PR decisions.
Last month LeAnn made a terrifying video to promote her tour. (Yes, she tried to tie Halloween in with Christmas, a la Jack Skellington.)
Over the weekend, she gave a ridiculous interview in which she makes fun of her stepson, and carries on about divorce and therapy. Tis the season for cray:
Speaking with the Daily Mail, LeAnn remarked, “I look at my 11-year-old stepson Mason, and I’m like, ‘I signed a record deal when I was your age. You’re still fumbling with tying your shoelaces.'”
Yes, she just told the world her nearly-teenage stepson has trouble tying his shoes. Classy.
Asked about her marriage, LeAnn shows another side of cray-crayness, becoming viciously defensive in response to the simplest of questions:
“I was meant to be with Eddie,” LeAnn snaps at the interviewer. “Divorce is not an option for us.”
It could easily be pointed out that divorce clearly is an option for both parties, as LeAnn and Eddie were both married when they met each other, but we won’t go there.
LeAnn goes on to ramble about how much she loves therapy because it allows her to “feel stuff,” and gripe about people snapping pics on their camera phones. (Maybe don’t do the interview in public then?)
The whole interview is worth reading just for the moments when LeAnn’s lunacy pokes through her rehearsed, media-trained responses.
Then again, if – like the rest of the world – you already know that LeAnn’s not playing with a full deck, then there’s really nothing new here.
