Fifty Shades of Grey fans may be disappointed to learn that star Jamie Dornan will not be going full-frontal in the motion picture, by his own admission.

The 32-year-old tells The Guardian’s The Observer that “there were contracts in place that said that viewers wouldn’t be seeing my, um … Yeah, my todger.”

And that about sums it up as only an Irishman can.

“You want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without grossing them out. You don’t want to make something gratuitous, ugly, and graphic,” he said.

The actor stars in Fifty Shades of Grey alongside another relative newcomer, Dakota Johnson, who played the Anastasia Steele to Jamie’s Christian Grey.

The two stars took the risky, buzzed-about roles in the adaptation of E.L. James’ erotic novel after original star Charlie Hunnam backed out of the movie.

The casting has been met with mixed reviews.

Reports that Dakota Johnson isn’t coming off sexy in love scenes that had to be re-shot aren’t likely to make potential viewers swoon, but who knows.

“Dakota isn’t coming off sexy enough,” an insider said of producers’ reactions to the sex scenes. “[Anastasia Steele] needs to be naive, not a dishrag.”

Ouch. How does Jamie feel about that?

“Sam is a very bright woman, so there might be some suggestive elements to it, but I haven’t seen it at this stage,” Dornan said director Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Right now “it is hard for me to say,” he said, although he added that “I’m aware of what we shot, and it wasn’t as if we shot a film without any action.”
