Ever since news broke that June Shannon is dating convicted child molester Mark McDaniel, the former reality star has mainly avoided the media.
The day after the scandal went public, June posted the video below in which she claims that TLC instructed her to remain "hush, hush."
Now that TLC has canceled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, however, June is apparently free to speak to the public all she wants, and she’s already taking advantage of her new freedom.
June has already promised her first full interview to E! and she promoted the sit-down while speaking with various media outlets outside her home in Georgia last night.
"The whole truth will come out on my side," Shannon told reporters. "The protection of my kids is my number one priority."
"I don’t want to say anything about anything. That will come out with the right media outlet."
June may wind up taking flak for defending her reputation at a time when she should be putting all of her effort into fighting to keep and protect her children.
However, it could be argued that with everything that’s being said about her in the press, June has little choice but to grant an interview.
Yesterday, June’s daughter Anna Shannon blamed her mother for the family’s current difficulties in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
It will be interesting to see how June defends her actions, as photographic evidence seems to prove that Shannon exposed her youngest daughter to McDaniel, and action that most consider thoroughly inexcusable.
