Miley Cyrus blasted Liam Hemsworth during a recent concert, referring to the guy who "broke her heart" as a "piece of s–t" and telling fans that she wrote "Wrecking Ball" in order to take revenge on her ex.
In case you missed it, check out video of the bizarre, rage-fueled rant below:
Liam and Miley were engaged at one point and he’s been Cyrus’ only long term, high-profile boyfriend to date, so fans naturally assumed that Hemsworth was the target of the tirade.
Not so, says Miley:
In a series of tweets posted today, Miley insisted that her comments were only intended to get the crowd fired up and had nothing to do with her ex.
"What I said the other night at G.A.Y. had nothing to do with Liam," read one tweet. "I was just trying to rile up the boys."
She later added: "I don’t usually respond to tabloidy stuff but this isn’t something I want being spread around. It sounded hateful but not what I meant."
Not yet through explaining herself, Miley clarified that there was a perfectly good reason why she seemed so agitated on stage: "I was just too turnttttt up."
So there you have it. Miley doesn’t hate her ex. She was simply "turnttttt up." We’ve all been there.
Now, if she ever gets turntttttt up with six "T"s at the end, then there’s cause for concern.
Miley’s Liam rant harmless speech isn’t the first time she’s caused controversy at her shows recently. Miley’s date rape joke earlier this week landed the singer in hot water. Check out video of that unfortunate remark below:
