Live with Kelly and Michael host and NFL Hall of Fame inductee Michael Strahan may join Good Morning America, according to a new report.

Though ABC declined to comment, a source confirms that ABC News has been talking to the former New York Giants defensive end, 42, for months.

Michael Strahan to GMA?

Strahan’s addition is the latest casting shakeup on the popular show.

"He’s not being brought in to replace Josh Elliott [whose departure was announced on Sunday]," says the inside source. "He’s not taking anyone’s spot."

Instead, GMA hopes to add Strahan to the morning program, while still allowing him to fulfill his Live with Kelly and Michael co-hosting duties with Kelly Ripa.

Details are being worked out, but it is expected that Strahan, who has made quite a post-NFL career for himself, would appear between 7 and 8:15 a.m.

It’s not clear what types of segments he will be featured in.
