San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is reportedly being investigated by police in connection with a sexual assault incident at a Miami hotel.
TMZ reports that Kaepernick is a suspect in the "beginning stages" of the investigation and no formal charges have been filed yet.
Colin has yet to comment on the allegations, and is reportedly not concerned. The 26-year-old was spotted club-hopping in Miami over the weekend, well after he was made aware of the investigation.
49ers General Manager Trent Baalke issued a statement saying, that the team is "aware of the recent media report regarding Colin Kaepernick and is in the process of gathering the pertinent facts."
This marks the second time in the past year that Kaepernick has been involved in a sex-related scandal. In November of 2013, it was reported that a Kaepernick sex tape was making the rounds online and that the Niners star had gotten his partner in the tape pregnant. Neither rumor was ever confirmed.
Information about this case is scarce at the moment, but more details are likely to emerge as the investigation progresses. Kaepernick's agent and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell have been reached by the press, but both declined to comment.
