Vampire Diaries stars and former real-life couple Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev got back together this week … for the birth of his dog Nietzsche’s puppies.
The experience was definitely an eye-opener for the celebrities, even if they broke up earlier this year and are no longer romantically involved.
“Live from the whelping box In Atlanta! Panting, pushing, contractions – Wow. Make no mistake about it – Ladies rule,” he wrote Tuesday on Instagram.
“Women of every species blow my mind,” the actor went on. “Just incredible what mamas go through! Love to you mamas – all over the world. Jeez.”
Nietzsche welcomed eight little ones. No word if she will be renamed Octomom.
Just kidding. Nina, who films The Vampire Diaries in Atlanta with Ian, was equally blown away by the experience, writing “Birthing the little Nietzsches.”
“Such a beautiful + equally terrifying thing to witness …The miracle of life 🙂 #Wow.”
She posted the photo of the new mom below, while Ian added the one of himself sharing an embrace with his canine companion. Check them out:
“Our little Nietzsche girl is about to drop a ton of love into the world,” Ian wrote earlier. “World please send positive energy to this very brave and very scared little girl.”
We’re glad she pulled through, and that Ian and Nina did too!
