Sliders are on the rise … and we don’t mean burger recipes.
We’re talking about the new criminal trend happening to at gas stations all over the U.S., in which brazen thieves slide in and steal purses from cars.
While the female drivers are pumping gas, that is.
Authorities call this new breed of criminals "sliders" because they crouch down and pilfer the items below the eye level of the door, escaping undetected.
They don’t return the stolen property, either.
They also slide in and out of the station in general so quickly that security cameras barely catch them if at all – and by the time they do it’s often too late.
Police say women should be advised to keep purses by their side and to lock their doors … and of course keep an eye out for suspicious creepers.
