An event-filled month for Charlie Sheen turned especially noteworthy yesterday, as the actor reached a custody agreement with ex-wife Brooke Mueller.

Details were not disclosed, but Muller is expected to drop her restraining order and Sheen will soon have access again to sons Bob and Max. (Side note: pray for sons Bob and Max.) Said the two sides’ attorneys in a joint statement:

“Brooke and Charlie have reached an agreement that resolves their differences. For the benefit of the children, the terms of their agreement will not be disclosed. They ask the public for privacy on this matter.”

Following this arrangement, Sheen was caught by surprise later Thursday night, when police raided his house in apparent response to a call that said the actor had threatened to harm himself with a gun.

Under the terms of the aforementioned restraining order, Sheen is prohibited from storing any firearms at home.

Around 10:45 last night, officials wrapped up their search without arresting the star. His lawyer says police found one 1800s rifle on the premises.

It’s still unclear who called the authorities, but Sheen had nothing but positive things to say about the job they did. He Tweeted last night: “#fastball; the LAPD were AWESOME. Absolute pros! they can protect and serve this Warlock anytime!!”

In the video below, shot by a local news crew, you can actually see Charlie and friends hanging out and eating hamburgers while the police do their job:
