We have another update on the troubles between Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller.
A friend tells People the couple will undergo marriage counseling, while also detailing the situation from Christmas Eve.
“They were fighting at a dinner in a friend’s house and it continued until the next morning,” a source said. “Both of them were drinking and neither was supposed to be. They both have histories of alcohol abuse and have made every effort to stop. But things got out of hand.”
Rumors have swirled about what actually went down between the pair, with certain reports stating Sheen pulled a knife on Mueller; and others claiming Mueller was drunk when she dialed 911 and later recanted the charges against her husband.
The same friend says Sheen will take anger management classes and reside in Los Angeles for the near future. Mueller will remain in Aspen, Colorado.
As for their twin sons:
“The boys are fine, so precious. They knew nothing about a fight between their parents… After this unfortunate event, [Charlie and Brooke] need to be apart for awhile.”
