According to reports, Jon Gosselin, who became famous as the degraded dad on Jon and Kate Plus 8, then gained notoriety for the parade of women he’s been shagging since filing for divorce, is said to be pitching his own reality show.

Divorced Dad’s Club (a rumored title for the project) would chronicle the lives of famous divorced fathers. Given how TLC hates him and wishes it could divorce him along with Kate, he may get the chance to pursue his own show imminently.

But does Jon really need his own show? Here are five reasons we say yes

  1. Clearly, there’s a niche for reality TV shows in which mediocre women throw themselves at douchebags. There’s always room for one more.
  2. Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian were on a reality show and inexplicably landed a new one, and they’ve only been knocked up once total!
  3. If nothing else, you know he’s wildly unpredictable and not half-assing this midlife crisis; no need to stage any drama (cough, The Hills).
  4. Great title potential: Jon Minus 9, OctoDad, PA Player, etc.
  5. Better Hailey Glassman-Kate Major cat fight potential.

… and five reasons we say no:

  1. Ed Hardy t-shirts get enough free PR already.
  2. Michael Lohan doesn’t need to get back on TV.
  3. Watching some dude try to get laid while not even technically divorced from the mother of his eight kids yet is too low, even for TV nowadays.
  4. The celebrity gossip industry will cease to exist if reporters keep falling in love with him following 10-minute interviews and quitting their jobs.
  5. Cara, Mady, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, Joel will someday learn what Google is, and no salary he earns will cover their psychiatrists.

What do you think? Should Jon get his own reality show?
