Every time he thinks he’s out, reality TV pulls Nick Lachey back in.

This summer, the former Newlyweds and Clash of the Choirs star will host a reality show on ABC. Its aim? To find the next Zac Efron or Vanessa Hudgens; i.e. a newcomer to be “a part of High School Musical history,” as a network rep described it.

Tentatively titled High School Musical: Summer Session, the series will feature contestants between the ages of 16 and 22. It will premiere on July 20.

Right now, of course, High School Musical 3: Senior Year is being filmed in Utah; a fourth installment of the blockbuster Disney franchise is also in the works.
