O-Town has answered the prayers of music fans everywhere.

The group announced this week that it will release an album in August, its first set of new work since 2002's "O2."

And just as O-Town prepares for a comeback, rumors of a One Direction breakup are everywhere today, following a leaked video of members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson smoking pot.

These contrasting stories serve as the latest reminders that the lives of boy bands can be memorable and long-lasting... or forgetful and fleeting. But always very handsome.

Which groups have stood the test of adorable time? Which do we miss the most? Which did you forget ever existed?

Click through the following gallery and reminisce: Don't you wish some of these singers never went bye, bye, bye?

Remember when NSYNC reunited at the MTV Video Music Awards last year and fans lost their minds?

Well... let's hope you've bookmarked a video of that performance on your computer. Because it won't be happening again any time soon.

"It was fun, it was interesting, but I don't know if it's ever going to happen again," Joey Fatone told Huffington Post this week. "I don't know whether or not something will ever happen again, but again you always say never say never because that happened.

"That was never gonna happen and all of a sudden it did happen."

Fatone also took a moment to throw some shade on his former group’s competition when asked about the recent Backstreet Boys tour.

Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter is now a married man.

The 34-year-old pop star and his fiancee, fitness expert Lauren Kitt, officially tied the knot at the Bacara Resort and Spa in Santa Barbara on Saturday.

Several of Nick's boy band brothers were on hand.

The duo's fairy tale nuptials took place a little over a year after Nick popped the question to his girlfriend. The location: A small island in the Florida Keys.

In February 2013, the boy bander hinted at the proposal on his Instagram, posting a photo with his gal and the cryptic caption, "Big question ... great answer."

Fast forward to this weekend and here we are. Despite famously telling people for years that he would "never get married," Nick Carter is married.

Fellow Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough gets a lot of the credit, says Nick. "I asked Howie [for advice]. I was like, 'I love her, and I don't want to lose her.'"

"And he was like, 'Just do it!'"

"This is the best day of my life," Carter gushed to celebrity gossip publication In Touch of the nuptials. "I'm so happy to be marrying the love of my life."

Their In a World Like This Tour went so well (apparently) in 2013, the reunited Backstreet Boys have decided to extend it into this summer - with Avril Lavigne!

The late '90s live as the singer will join the group as opening act for a two-month foray into North American amphitheaters, according to reports.

  • Always Avril
  • Return of the Backstreet Boys

After a string of Canadian shows in early May, the tour will return to the U.S. for 23 concerts, beginning May 22 at the WaMu Theater in Seattle, Wash.

"We really wanted to put together a great show and do our best to give everyone their money's worth," Backstreet's Brian Littrell said in a press release.

"Avril is an unbelievably talented artist who's a perfect fit."

If only they could get her husband Chad Kroeger to join.

Aaron Carter claims he received a beatdown from four hardcore New Kids on the Block fans while out to dinner in Boston this weekend ... seriously.

It wasn't a coincidence, either. This was full-on boy band turf war style justice.

Aaron Carter Beat Up

Carter was leaving dinner in the city, he says, when a man yelled out, "I heard you’re doing a show here tomorrow. This is the town of the New Kids."

Aaron claims that three other guys then jumped out of a gold Chevy Malibu and started roughing him up, including a pretty serious blow to the face.

And the winner for Unexpected Video of the Week goes to...

On Thursday night, during the second annual Hilarity for Charity event - a fundraiser organized by Seth Rogen and his wife that benefits The Alzheimer's Association - the actor jumped on stage with The Backstreet Boys.

And got down with his bad self!

Watch in impressed amazement now as Rogen shows off his moves to "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)." Does the group need a sixth singer?!?

The Backstreet Boys are a little late to the Harlem Shake party.

While the '90s boy band freely admits this fact on their YouTube channel (HS is so January-February), they couldn't resist, and their fans will clearly eat it up.

Most Harlem Shake videos are merely 30-60 seconds, but Backstreet's clocks in at nearly two minutes, featuring a special choreographed dance section!

98 Degrees? NSYNC? The gauntlet has been thrown down.

Backstreet's back, alright.

For the first time in six years, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, A.J. McLean and Kevin Richardson reunited as the five Backstreet Boys performed live on Good Morning America's Summer Concert series in New York's Central Park.

The quintet sang "Incomplete," "I Want It That Way" and "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)." Check out their GMA reunion concert below and see what you think:

Afterward, the show's news anchor, Josh Elliott, referring to absent co-host Robin Roberts - who on Thursday both departed the show to begin medical treatments and lost her mother, 88-year-old Lucimarian - said, "Robin, that one was for you."

Be well, Robin, and stay strong.

The Backstreet Boys' A.J. McLean and his wife, Rochelle Deanna Karidis, are expecting their first child. They broke the news in the cute video below.

"I just wanted to say thanks to all you guys for all your love and support. We just recently got married ... I was the most recent Backstreet Boy to take the plunge," the singer shares with a smile, and his beautiful wife by his side.

The couple wed in December 2011 in Beverly Hills. Congrats!
