Sheryl Crow Tries, Fails to "Soak Up the Sun"
Sheryl Crow is sort of old. Give her a break.
So argued the veteran singer herself during a show in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday night, as Crow attempted to belt out a version of her classic "Soak Up the Sun," only to quickly forget many of the words.
"It's live! Nothing on tape here," she joked with the crowd during the flub, adding: "I'm 50 what can I say! My brain has gone to shit!"
And, hey, Sheryl recovered to finish off the track, while providing a fun video for the world to see. A lot more fun than if she simply sang the single perfectly. Watch for yourself:
Sheryl Crow Flashes Underwear at CMT Awards
Move over, Lady Gaga and Khloe Kardashian.
You've got company in the accidental wardrobe malfunction department this week after Sheryl Crow's mishap at the 2011 CMT Music Awards.
During Wednesday's live show, a skirt-clad Crow seemed absent-minded when she rose from a stool during a performance with host Kid Rock.
During a duet with Kid Rock, Sheryl uncrossed her legs, making her underwear completely visible to the in-theater audience and millions of viewers.
The 49-year-old songstress didn't play dumb when she returned to the stage later in the show to present an award with fellow singer Sara Evans.
"Okay, I'm just going to address the elephant in the room," she began.
"People all over America are Tweeting that I was wearing a really short skirt when I sang with Kid Rock, and that when I got off the stool, I showed my underwear."
Quipped Evans, "Well, at least you were wearing underwear."
"I was wearing underwear," she said. "Cause I'm good, clean family entertainment."

Sheryl Crow Opens Breast Cancer Center
Sheryl Crow has put her money where her boobs are.
The breast cancer survivor opened the Sheryl Crow Imaging Center in Los Angeles today, a facility that features screening and diagnostic technologies for the detection of this horrible disease.
As noted in a press release, this development is part of the larger Pink Lotus Breast Center, the nation's first complex dedicated solely to the prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment of this type of cancer, which Crowe was diagnosed with in 2006.
Said the singer in a statement:
"Joining forces with the Pink Lotus Breast Center has provided me with a wonderful platform to create awareness and encourage the millions of American women over 40 to get their annual mammogram."
Sheryl Crow Adopts Baby Son #2!
Already the mother to son Wyatt, who she adopted in 2007, Sheryl Crow has adopted a sibling for him. Her new son, Levi James, was born April 30.
"I have some exciting news to share with you guys," the singer announced on her official Web site earlier today. "Wyatt has a new little brother!"
The 48-year-old singer has no qualms about being a single mother.
“My whole life, I had a clear picture of what life was supposed to be. I was supposed to have a big career but at the same time a husband, the house and the kids."
"That’s what I knew. That’s what a successful life consisted of," she told Parade.
Sheryl Crow and son Wyatt have a new family member!
"A family doesn’t always look like girl meets boy, they fall in love, get married, have a kid. I’m going to let go of what I think things are supposed to look like, 'ause I can’t control anything. When I try to control things, I keep things from happening.”
Her son has inspired her work.
“When a baby comes into your life, the environment becomes so personal. Having him around, this innocent spirit, made me fearless about what I wanted to write and about not being afraid of who I was going to piss off. It created a lot of urgency.”
Congratulations to the happy, growing family!
New Couple Alert: Sheryl Crow and John Cassimus
Lance Armstrong, who?
Sheryl Crow has moved on from the seven-time Tour de France champion. Rumor has it the singer is dating John Cassimus, a restaurateur from Birmingham, Ala.
"They're enjoying getting to know each other," said a source, who added Jay Barker, the new fiance of Sara Evans, introduced the pair.
"Jay got them together in March. John, who's also a pilot, has been flying his plane to Nashville to see her. They've kept it pretty low-key â" cooking together, riding horses, going up in his plane."
Angelina Who? Sheryl Crow Adopts a Son
Sheryl Crow has adopted a 2-week-old boy, the singer announced on her website.
The child was given the first name Wyatt after Crow's father and the middle name Steven after both her younger brother Steven Crow and manager Steven "Scooter" Weintraub, the ex-girlfriend of Lance Armstrong writes on her site.
"We are enjoying some very private family time," Crow writes.
There was no other details given, except that the child was born in the United States and will most likely feud with Pax Thien for years to come for celebrity gossip attention.
The announcement came after Crow wrapped up a "Stop Global Warming College Tour" â" a vegetable oil-powered bus tour with An Inconvenient Truth producer Laurie David of 11 campuses to inform students about climate issues.
Crow recently split with Armstrong and has successfully completely treatment for breast cancer. As a new mother, she'll probably turn to Jennifer Meyer for advice.
Now single, Crow recently told a rodeo crowd: "I'm looking for a cowboy."
Sadly, however, Tony Romo is taken by Carrie Underwood. Mabe Julius Jones is available.
John Mayer and Bikini-Clad Sheryl Crow Tour Together
John Mayer may still be tapping the backside of Jessica Simpson from time to time, but it appears as though a new contender is trying to get the rocker's attention.
Now single after a long relationship with Lance Armstrong, Sheryl Crow isn't shy about strutting her older - albeit still somewhat sexy - stuff, is she?
Rumor has it that this stunt was actually Crow's retaliation for Mayer interrupting her set by coming out in a bear costume (seriously). But it appears as though the singer is trying out for a part on one of Sara Evans' husband's favorite films.
Try not to come on so strongly, Sheryl. You're making Victoria Beckham look subtle.
