Sarah Palin is giving the people what they want (or want they want to be up in arms about) by starting her own subscription-based online network.

The Sarah Palin Channel, which went live on Sunday, bills itself as a "direct connection" between the former Alaska governor and her supporters.

Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate, vows on her homepage that the new political channel has "no need to please the powers that be."

"Are you tired of the media filters?" Palin asks. "Well, I am."

"I always have been. We're gonna do something about it," she adds, promising, "we'll talk about the issues that the mainstream media won't talk about.

Palin says she will oversee all content on the channel, which is either a good or a bad thing depending on how you view Sarah (to state the obvious).

Former political figure Sarah Palin is calling for President Barack Obama to be impeached in an op-ed quickly seized upon by every wannabe comedian on Twitter.

Palin's scathing indictment on Breitbart, in which she likens Obama to an abusive husband and America to his battered wife, set the Internet ablaze.

Reactions on both sides then threw gasoline on it.

  • You Betcha
  • President Obama in Rome

In her view, it's Obama’s diabolical plan to have Mexicans take jobs from Americans, so as to strengthen his hold on power, and he should be ousted as a result.

While Sarah has plenty of fans who would love to see Obama out of office, an overwhelming majority of Tweets about her comments have been ... well ...

Given her choice of words, questionable grasp of facts and the fact that it's Sarah Palin, her condemnation of the "imperial" Obama sparked widespread ridicule:

Some choice reactions after the jump:

What will The View look like this fall on ABC?

It's a question many fans are wondering, following the firing of Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd last month.

Rosie O'Donnell may actually return to her former co-hosting chair next season, while Bachelorette Andi Dorfman has expressed interest, as has... Sarah Palin. For real.

Could one of these women end up alongside Whoopi Goldberg? Could all of them? Plenty of seats are available, after all.

From the trio of candidates mentioned above to a couple of other women who have talk show hosting experience, we've come up with 11 possible future anchors.

Which are appealing? Which would have you tuning in? Tuning out? Click around and sound off now!

Sarah Palin won't dismiss the possibility. She has acknowledged that The View needs fresh blood.

Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd are out.

Might Sarah Palin be in?!?

In light of The View shake-up announced late last month, The former Vice Presidential candidate was asked if she would help co-anchor a talk show.

"Maybe," Palin told The Hollywood Reporter. "But the politics would have to be interspersed with a whole lot of fun and real life and inspiration showcasing American work ethic, because those topics are all pretty much the antithesis of today’s politics, which I find incorrigibly disastrous!"

Palin then proved that she follows current pop culture events and specifically cited the ABC gabfest.

Speaking this weekend at Stand & Fight, a rally held by the National Rifle Association (NRA), Sarah Palin did not disappoint attendees looking for fiery rhetoric.

The 50-year-old former Republican V.P. candidate claimed that President Obama's foreign policy and global vision have merely “coddled adversaries.”

A Palin presidency, she argues, would be quite different ...

“Come on. Enemies, who would utterly annihilate America, they who’d obviously have information on plots, to carry out Jihad,” the ex-Alaska Governor said.

“Oh, but you can’t offend them, can’t make them uncomfortable, not even a smidgen."

"If I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.”

Waterboarding is a controversial interrogation technique in which water is poured on the face of a detainee, who is immobilized, to induce a fear of drowning.

Sarah Palin showed off her comedic skills on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night, with the host taking on the role of Russian president Vladimir Putin.

In a sketch with the former Republican V.P. nominee and Alaska Governor, Putin puts in a phone call to the political firebrand, asking for a key clarification:

"I heard back in 2008, you predicted I would invade Ukraine. Is that true?"

"You betcha, Vlad," says Palin, advising him to pull out of Ukraine.

"Whoa, hey Capt. Buzzkill," the autocrat responds, before moving on to other more important topics, such as March Madness, kids and grizzly bears.

Sarah Palin is going from standing up for TV stars (she's on Team Phil Robertson) to being a TV star herself.

The former Vice Presidential candidate appeared this morning at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in promotion of "Amazing America with Sarah Palin," which premieres April 3 on the Sportsman Channel.

"It's gonna be huge and it's gonna be fun," Palin told reporters, explaining that the series will follow her and other family members around the country.

Sarah Palin has already expressed her view on the Phil Robertson scandal that has rocked television's top-rated reality show.

Soon after A&E suspended the Duck Dynasty star, Palin Tweeted that Robertson simply expressed his "personal opinion" and his rights to free speech were being impinged on.

That's a commonly misguided point of view, considering the First Amendment has nothing to do with one suffering professional consequences for one's words or actions.

But Palin went On the Record With Greta Susteren this week and admitted she hasn't actually read Robertson's fiery comments regarding homosexuality.

"I haven't read the article. I don't know exactly how he said it," Palin told the host. "What he was doing was in response to a question about a lifestyle he disagrees with, and yet he has said over and over again he doesn't hate the person engaging in the lifestyle he disagrees with, but in response he was quoting the gospel.

"So people who are so insulted and offended by what he said evidently are offended by what he was quoting in the gospel."

Martin Bashir has resigned from MSNBC in the wake of the controversy he started when he advocated doing something very unpleasant to Sarah Palin.

Almost three weeks after his shocking on-air trashing of Palin, he finally stepped down from the network. A steep price to pay, yes, but deservedly so.

At issue was Palin comparing America’s Chinese debt to slavery, and her insistence that her claim was not racist. Bashir tried to make light of this, and failed.

He essentially advocated that someone use her mouth as a latrine, but didn't even word it as nicely as that. His resignation statement was appropriately contrite:

"After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday," Bashir said.

Last week, Sarah Palin compared the national debt to slavery, saying both are examples of one being "beholden to a foreign master."

It wasn't the ex-governor's finest hour.

But this controversial statement was quickly overshadowed by Martin Bashir's critique of Palin, as the MSNBC analyst referred to the former Vice Presidential candidate as a "world class idiot" and added that someone should shove feces in her mouth.

On air, Bashir recounted an excerpt from an 18th century plantation owner that mentioned how the man used to deal with unruly slaves, specifically one named Hector who the owner "flogged and "pickled" and then put "shit in his mouth."
