Jordin Sparks covers the latest issue of Women's Running, a feat she never imagined she'd accomplish just a few years ago.

“I was carrying a 5-year-old," the former American Idol winner tells Life & Style of her past figure. “Fall 2010 through March, that's kind of when I lost the first 30 pounds. By March of last year, I lost 50. And then I maintained it for the rest of the year.”

How did she do it? Sparks may have focused on more healthy recipes in the kitchen, but it was the work done outside the home that really paid off.

Whitney Houston passed away four and a half months ago, but the legendary singer has certainly not been forgotten.

She's back in the news now, in fact, because former American Idol champion Jordin Sparks has come out with the music video for "Celebrate," a duet Sparks sings with Whitney in the film Sparkle.

“What we wanted to do was make sure that this was a fun, happy video and just kind of dedicating it to her,” Jordin told Entertainment Tonight. “What better song to leave for people to hear than a song that is so upbeat and just so happy and so encouraging?”

Sparkle opens on August 17 and co-stars Derek Luke, Tika Sumpter, Omari Hardwick, Goapele and Carmen Ejogo show up in the video, the vocals for which were recorded just a few days before Whitney's tragic passing.

John Legend and Jordin Sparks' tribute to Whitney Houston at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards moved the crowd - especially Bobbi Kristina Brown - to tears.

Now, Whitney's duet with Jordin Sparks - Houston's final recording - has leaked online. "Celebrate" was written by R. Kelly and is the last song she recorded.

Take a listen below:

Producer Harvey Mason Jr. said that despite her end-of-life struggles, Houston "really positive" and "fun-loving" during the recording with Sparks.

There's more music from these two yet to come. “Celebrate” will be featured on the soundtrack to Whitney and Jordin‘s upcoming movie, Sparkle.

The new film also stars Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo, Tika Sumpter, Omari Hardwick, and Cee Lo Green and will hit theaters on August 17.

Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, appeared briefly on stage at last night's Billboard Music Awards after a tribute to her late mother.

Bobbi Kristina, in her first major public appearance since her mother died, called herself "blessed to have been in such an incredible woman's life."

She accepted the Millennium Award after performances by John Legend and Jordan Sparks. Here's Sparks' rendition of "I Will Always Love You" ...

Sparks, the one-time American Idol winner, more than held her own in the presence of greatness. Whitney's legacy will never be forgotten.

The camera cut to a crying Bobbi Kristina multiple times during the moving effort by Jordin, which moved much of the audience to near-tears.

Bobbi Kristina Brown was then joined on stage by Whitney's sister-in-law and manager, Pat Houston, who spoke briefly to the crowd as well.

For much more coverage of the event (spoiler alert: Adele won a lot of trophies), follow this link for a full list of Billboard Music Awards winners.

Prior to her passing, Whitney Houston had been working on Sparkle, a remake of a 1976 film that centers on teenage sisters who form a singing group in Harlem.

She co-stars in the film, which hits theaters on August 17 and will be dedicated to the late legend, with former American Idol champion Jordin Sparks, who fought through tears yesterday while honoring Houston at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

"When you see Sparkle, you will be so happy to see the joy that is on her face," Sparks said of Whitney, with whom she shares an interview below. "Everyday started with Whitney saying, 'How are my babies doing? Are you guys good? God is good.' It translates on the screen."

Speaking to attendees that included Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Emma Stone, Paula Patton, Pam Grier and Kerry Washington, Sparks concluded:

"The first day she got [to the set] she's scolding me, and I'm thinking this is the best day ever. She went from being this unreachable supernova pop star to my costar, friend and someone who was like a mentor to me. It was a gift and an honor to play opposite Whitney Houston in the film."

Did you hear? Jane Carrey, daughter of beloved actor Jim Carrey, received a golden ticket to Hollywood on American Idol this week.

But the 24-year old still has a long way to go until she's considered one of the premiere celebrity offspring singers. That's right, there are a number of famous artists with similarly famous parents. We count them down below...

10. Hank Williams Jr. - Son of Hank Williams Sr. Loses points for being a narrow-minded moron.

9. Lisa Marie Presley - Daughter of Elvis Presley. Never responsible for any major hits. But her kiss of Michael Jackson at the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards was sort of a musical moment that will last forever.

8. Natalie Cole - Daughter of Nat King Cole. Who will ever forget the digitally-recorded, aptly-titled duet between father and child, "Unforgettable?"

7. Robin Thicke - Son of Alan Thicke. Has written songs for Jennifer Hudson, Usher and Mary J. Blige. Impressive!

6. Willow Smith - Daughter of Will and Jada Smith. Hasn't accomplished a great deal since whipping her hair all around, but is only 11. Still has time.

5. Jane Carrey - Daughter of Jim Carrey. Will move up a lot higher if she wins American Idol.

4. Jordin Sparks - Daughter of former NFL star Phillipi Sparks. Idol champion. Super Bowl national anthem singer. Broadway actress.

3. Chynna Phillips - Daughter of John Phillips. Would not even had made this list a year ago. But did you see Bridesmaids?!? A surprise top three entrant.

2. Liza Minnelli - Daughter of Judy Garland. Veteran of the song and stage industry, has won an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award. Also, recurred on Arrested Development.

1. Miley Cyrus. Daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus. No Oscar, Emmy, Grammy or Tony Award. But advanced to the finals of our first-ever tournament of THG.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE FAMOUS OFFSPRING SINGER?

Cover your ears, readers. The New Couple Alert siren might be sounded at any moment.

Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks were spotted at Philippe Chow in West Hollywood last night, celebrating the former's 22nd birthday and looking cozy together, witnesses tell E! News.

  • Sparks, Jordin
  • Jason Derulo Picture

Are sparks flying between Jordin and Jason?

Derulo has previously been linked to his "It Girl" music video co-star Tika Sumpter... who, as bad luck would have it, will actually appear opposite Sparks in the upcoming remake of Sparkle on the big screen.

That should make for an interesting day or two on set.
