Bon Jovi Death Hoax Creator Confesses, Cites Irritation With Overexposed Singer

Living, breathing rocker and New Year's Eve star Jon Bon Jovi showed off his physique on a family Christmas vacation, while reading Bill Clinton's latest book. Nice.

As you can see, the Internet hoax that proclaimed Jon Bon Jovi dead earlier this month was B.S. - helpfully cleared up by the singer himself - and thank goodness.

What kind of person actually starts a Twitter hoax to kill off Bon Jovi, you ask? Well, we now know, as the person responsible for starting the rumor confessed!

Jon Bon Jovi Shirtless

Pennsylvania musician Jeffrey Goho told the Asbury Park Press (N.J.) he started up the fake Twitter account in mid-December with the intention of offing Jon Bon.

He reported that the "Wanted Dead or Alive" singer passed away on tour in his native New Jersey. Since then, "I've gotten a lot of backlash from it," he says.

Stunning news right there. Goho recalls how it got started:

"All I heard was 'Bon Jovi this,' 'Bon Jovi starting a restaurant.' The Advil commercial. It was like, 'Jeez, (Bon Jovi) was a household name due to music, not business."

"Long story short, [my band and I] got so worked up in the conversation, I just kind of took the liberty and started (the rumor), because I was so irritated."

Makes sense. Totally worth fake killing someone over.

Jon Bon Jovi Dead? No, Singer Helpfully Proves

Jon Bon Jovi may be wanted dead or alive ... but he's not the former.

He may sing about goin' down in a blaze of glory, but he has not yet.

We're here all day. Despite rumors that Bon Jovi is dead, we are happy to report that he has not been shot through the heart. He's still living ... and not even on a prayer.

Jon Bon Jovi Lives!!!!

As the rumors of Bon Jovi's death began circulating online last night, the rocker must've heard them, because he posted photo of himself in front of a Christmas tree.

Holding a sign that reads "Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey," with the current date and time, he gave a shout out to his home state while proving he's alive. Classic.

The rumor originated when some lame gossip site reproduced a 2009 L.A. Times story announcing the death of Michael Jackson and just put Jon Bon's name in there.

Bon Jovi's friend, David Bergman, posted the above pic on the band's Facebook page with the caption that Bon Jovi "is alive and well." Death hoax? Foiled, hilariously.

Kim Jong Il died for real though. That happened.

Jon Bon Jovi Opens Charity-Based Restaurant, Is Awesome

Jon Bon Jovi has found a unique way to give back.

The veteran rocker and wife Dorothea have opened up a restaurant in central New Jersey named Soul Kitchen. It serves gourmet-quality dishes, many using ingredients from its very own garden, with one major twist: no prices.

Customers are simply asked to leave whatever amount they wish in an envelope on the table, with all proceeds going to charity. Those who cannot afford much, or would prefer to donate their time instead, are encouraged to volunteer.

Bon Jovi at the AMAs: Pics & Performance Video!

Considering Justin Bieber was named Artist of the Year, it's safe to say the American Music Awards skewed toward a younger generation last night.

But try telling that to Bon Jovi. The veteran band is releasing a Greatest Hits album this winter, replete with four new songs. It performed one of them at the ceremony over the weekend, transitioning from "What Do You Got?" to  ''You Give Love a Bad Name'' and ''It's My Life."

It was an impressive display from one of the world's most legendary bands. Check out Jon and friends in video and in photographs now:

Rihanna Rocks Out with Bon Jovi

Duets don't get much more unexpected, or awesome, than this.

At a concert in Madrid last night, Bon Jovi broke out its classic single "Livin on a Prayer." The crowd was going ballistic enough over it when a special guest appeared on stage alongside the lead singer: Rihanna!

Tweeted the beautiful artist after the performance:

“Wait!…did I just rock out with Bon Jovi tonight??? WTFFFF!!!!!!!”

Yes, yes you did. See for yourself, readers, in the video below.

Jon Bon Jovi: Living on a Prayer, Limping on a Stage

When the union went on strike, did Tommy give up?

When tips at the diner were sparse, did Gina throw in her apron?

No and no. Therefore, legendary rocker Jon Bon Jovi - inspired by the characters he created for the iconic single "Livin on a Prayer" - continued with his concert in New Jersey over the weekend, despite a serious leg injury sustained during the set.

Said a spokesperson afterward: "Jon Bon Jovi sustained a torn calf muscle. [He] made light of the injury and went on to close the show... The band ended the night together, thanking the capacity hometown crowd, and assisting Jon off the stage."

The development won't stop Bon Jovi from playing every stop of its tour this summer. Watch the injured lead singer in action below:

Another Charitable Rocker: Bon Jovi to Renovate Homes

It must be Celebrities Take Up Good Causes Season or something.

First, Jessica Biel and Eva Longoria auctioned themselves off as dates for charitable reasons.

Then, Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger decided their outfits from Brokeback Mountain could serve the needy.

Clinton and Bon Jovi

From there, we just wrote about Shakira - and it wasn't solely to pay homage to her hips (her amazing, amazing hips). She's helping to build a school.

And there's still more! Yesterday, Jon Bon Jovi announced an effort to renovate 15 rundown houses in Philadelphia's blighted north side.

With Bill Clinton by his side, singer introduced the Phase V Homeownership Project before a crowd of about 350 people in Philadelphia.

The effort is sponsored by Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation and the Saturn car company, working in conjunction with Project HOME and Habitat for Humanity â€" and Bon Jovi said Clinton was on board as well.

The former president, 60, "was intrigued enough that he offered his services, and said, 'If I can help you in any way, don't hesitate.' And we didn't," Bon Jovi told the Associated Press.

This certainly isn't the only good cause Bon Jovi assists with. His fashion lines also helps the poor.

Jon Bon Jovi Fashion Line is Good Medicine for the Poor

We thought Jon Bon Jovi was the man for getting it on with Diane Lane.

And he sure is.

Bon Jovi and Kenneth Cole

But the rocker is also one of the more charitable artists in the industry.

The latest endeavor of this nature for the owner of the Arena Football league's Philadelphia Soul has him teaming up with clothing designer Kenneth Cole (pictured, right) to create a line of limited edition outerwear.

Bon Jovi debuted one of the designer jackets on the red carpet at Thursday night's Fashion Rocks event in New York.

As much as we like Fergie, let's hope the line doesn't exactly follow her taste.

The coats will be available in November at Kenneth Cole and Saks Fifth Avenue stores - and will benefit HELP USA, an organization that works to empower the homeless and others in need.

But we all know why Bon Jovi is really getting into fashion: he hopes to meet Kristin Cavallari.

Bon Jovi Skips Movie Premiere, Avoids Awkward Diane Lane (Ex)Change

Our HeroWe always knew someone gave love a bad name for Jon Bon Jovi. You could feel the pain in the rock 'n roll god's voice every time he mentioned an angel's smile being up for sale.

But Diane Lane was responsible for such heartbreak?!? Who knew? (That these two were an item ... that Bon Jovi was suave enough to bag such a beautiful actress ... that the repercussions of that affair would be etched in Best of the 80s CDs forever ...)

20 years later, the painful effects are still felt for Jon. He turned down the opportunity to view the premiere Hollywoodland in Southampton last weekend. The movie stars Ben Affleck as George Reeves, the original TV Superman.

Bon Jovi Hit ThisWe're gonna avoid the obvious consternation at Affleck playing the role of Superman and comment on who stars as the woman Reeves had an affair with back in the day: Lane.

See, When Bon Jovi split from his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, in the mid-'80s, he got to see Lane naked many, many times. But the relationship ended badly, leading to the band's classic, "You Give Love a Bad Name"

The result did drive Jon back into the arms of Hurley, who he married in1989 and has had four children with.

We love Jon Bon, don't get us wrong. But we'd take being promised heaven and then being put through hell if it meant we could recreate the hallway railing scene from Unfaithful with Lane.

Wow.

That imagery even puts this picture of Jessica Simpson to shame.
